In 1964, the Brillo Box was originally exhibited at the Stable Gallery and it made Andy Warhol become one of the preeminent artists of the 20th century. At that time, many critics had questioned: How that mass-produced production could be art? But, Warhol shocked the world and art market with his Brillo Boxes -- In 1969, Lisanne Skyler’s father paid $1,000 for one Brillo Box and he sold it for $3 million over 40 years later. With his 'Brillo Box', a functional work of art, he was known as the artist who blurred the line between mass-produced consumer objects and the canon of fine art.
